For the fifth year in a row, the campaign has Eko-september went off the rails and broke records in number of activities and scope. Behind the annually recurring campaign month for organic and KRAV-marked stands Organic Sweden, Ekologiska Lantbrukarna, Sweden's Consumers and KRAV.
Eko-september started in 2019 with the UK's "Organic September" as a model. The campaign has grown from year to year and now involves a large number of organic farmers and food companies as well as all players in the grocery trade.
- We are proud to Eko-september established as the campaign month for eco and that we bring together as many actors who jointly want to drive sales and spread knowledge about organic and KRAV-marked, says Charlotte Bladh André, CEO of Organic Sweden.
Under Eko-september In 2023, the campaign has, among other things, been activated in social media, displayed in stores, advertised outdoors, highlighted by well-known food profiles and organic farmers who have arranged events all over the country.
Some results in brief
¤ 200 stores (at least) were displayed with campaign material
¤ 34 Ekobonde in stores were carried out
¤ 23 farm activities with organic farmers
¤ 3 million people were reached via outdoor advertising in locations close to stores
¤ 3 million people were reached via social media
¤ 130 people were reached through known food profiles
¤ All chains in DVH have promoted the campaign in different ways
¤ Cafes, bakeries, restaurants, farm shops around the country have displayed the campaign
Now Eko-september over, but Sweden's organic farmers and entrepreneurs continue to produce the most sustainable food possible 365 days a year. The hope is that the campaign will inspire continued sales of organic and KRAV-marked all year round.
- Under Eko-september many of our members have demonstrated how the organic food is produced and why it provides more biological diversity, a better climate, cleaner drinking water, more fertile soils and better animal welfare. Organic farming is an important tool for solving many of the major challenges that our entire food system faces today, says Sofia Emilsson, operations manager at Ekologiska Lantbrukarna.
