Organic Sweden has received funding from Vinnova to develop a digital portal that will promote the sale of Swedish organic food and beverages, especially from small-scale producers. The background to the project is that several of our members lost their most important sales channels during the corona crisis and need new customers. The purpose of the portal is to help buyers from different parts of the food chain, from Sweden and other markets, to discover the diversity of organic products available in our country.
The portal is being developed together with a reference group consisting of six member companies - Almnäs Bruk, Berga Bruk, Korvhantverk, Swedish Temptations, Tistelvind and Paradiset - which represents different product categories and has operations in different parts of the country. We will also collaborate with Organic Denmark, which has already developed a similar portal and who wants to share their insights and experiences during the journey.
Organic Denmark's portal has contributed to increased sales and exports of organic food from Danish small-scale producers. Their portal has around 150-250 unique visitors every day and the companies that are connected to the portal are experiencing an increasing number of inquiries from buyers. Our portal has similar potential, especially now during the corona crisis when many meeting places and food fairs are canceled and the buyer's customer journey is becoming increasingly digital.
