Today, the world's largest fair for organic food and drink opens Biofach - for the first time as a digital event. The fair in Nuremberg is usually the natural meeting place for close to 4 exhibitors and 000 visitors with an interest in organic food and drink, where Sweden usually has a separate assembly stand.
Biofach in Nuremberg is the world's largest eco-fair for organic food and drink, which makes it a unique meeting place for everyone who works with organic food. Last year, more than 3 exhibitors and 800 visitors from over 50 countries participated. The fair represents a market that globally amounted to 000 billion Euro 110, according to the latest statistics according to FiBL.
This year's fair has been adapted to the current situation and is being conducted completely digitally for the first time. For three days, there will be the opportunity to take part in company and product presentations, as well as matchmaking between producers and buyers. As usual, there is also a solid seminar program that revolves around everything from product and consumer trends, to research and statistics on the development of the eco-market.
During the corona crisis, the eco-market has developed strongly in many parts of the world. Underlying factors that are put forward are, among other things, that many consumers have more time to reflect on health and sustainability. Interest in the food's origin and identity has also increased, which has also benefited the sale of organic food and beverages.
- Biofach is an important context for all players with an interest in the growing market for organic food. Therefore, we are happy that the fair can be held despite the pandemic. We hope that the digital investment will be successful and that next year we can be seen on site in Nuremberg again, says Charlotte Bladh André, CEO of Organic Sweden.
