Bulgur originates from the Middle East and is similar to couscous, but in bulgur a larger part of the wheat grains is preserved, which makes bulgur more nutritious and fiber rich. As an ingredient, bulgur is excellent in salads, pilafs and as a filling. Tabouleh is a famous Lebanese salad made on bulgur or couscous together.
