Guar kernel flour ME EKO 125g
Guar gum is extracted from the pods of the Guar plant, an annual legume that is believed to have originated from a wild West African species called Cyamopsis senegalensis. Originally, the name "Guar" comes from the Sanskrit word "Gauahar", which means cow fodder. Our guar seed flour is from India where it has been cultivated for hundreds of years along with Pakistan. Guar gum is used as a gluten-free thickener and stabilizer and is excellent for baking gluten-free products.
It is important to note that guar seed meal can affect the absorption of medicines and should not be taken dry as it can swell already in the esophagus. Instead, it should be mixed with liquid and left to swell outside the gastrointestinal tract before being consumed. Large doses of guar gum can have a laxative effect and it has been used as a bulking agent for many years.
