Sweden is one of the countries in the world that is at the forefront when it comes to organic production and consumption. 20 percent of Sweden's agricultural land is organically certified. Only four countries in the world have a higher proportion of organic agricultural land. When it comes to the consumption of organic food per capita, Sweden is in third place - only in Switzerland and Denmark do consumers buy more organic food and drink. In public kitchens, 38 percent of all food served is organic - which is a world record!
One of the reasons why Sweden is so far ahead when it comes to organic food and drink is the diversity of organic farmers, food craftsmen and food companies in our country. Sweden also has political goals for both the organic agricultural area and consumption in the public sector that have driven the development.

Organic Sweden works daily to follow and disseminate news related to the organic market. We arrange our own conferences and events where we raise issues that we and our members want to pursue, including the annual event Ecological Future Day.
