Our Couverture is made in France at a cooperative facility that supports organic farming and community development in Latin America. The couverture is made from genuine Criollo cocoa from the Pangoa cooperative on the Peruvian Amazon plateau. About a hundred producers grow cocoa that has not been hybridized and that preserves the cocoa's original constitution.
This gives Pangoa cocoa its unique quality and taste. The fact that the farmers are paid more than twice the world market price gives extra satisfaction. With the finest raw materials, including Pangoa cocoa, various chocolate varieties are produced. Cane sugar is used as a sweetener and also comes from a Peruvian cooperative near Lima.
