The almond tree (Prunus amygdalus var. dulcis) is a tree species belonging to the plum family. It has been cultivated since 4 years ago and mainly in the USA, around the Mediterranean Sea, in Australia, Pakistan and Iran. The stone fruit that the tree forms, called almond, is used in both the food and cosmetic industries. There are two types of almonds, sweet and bitter almonds. The sweet almond is more popular and common than the bitter and strong bitter almond.
