Nordic Crown

We at Widéum Garden, Paul & Paula Widén, dared with great persistence to invest in the then completely unknown berries sea buckthorn and aronia in Bohuslän about 25 years ago! With knowledge from SLU, research and needs, we saw that this could even contribute to better public health and a more sustainable future.

It has been a tough job to start with cultivation, produce, teach, sell and then focus on scaling up so that as many people as possible will discover its benefits in everyday life! But with a collaboration in Värmland, with a factory that believed in us, we were able to expand and invest in an even larger market and production. With our recipes and with the brand Nordic Crown, Nordic Useful Goods, we want to reach out to many different industries. Organic production in Sweden, with cold-pressed berries, as little handled as possible and with as few or no additives. The Swed-jam factory took on the production and in our joint project we now manufacture and sell to other manufacturers, restaurants, grocery stores, delicatessens, health food stores, etc. Our berries from our own cultivations are not enough, so these are primarily sold frozen to either the local area in Bohuslän or to restaurants. So many more who have now discovered our Sea Buckthorn as the Lemons of the North or our Aronia berries as the Grapes of the North, as a fantastic alternative to red wine for example. So in other words, buy domestically produced and start daring to use our products, you too!
