Walnuts - the best source of antioxidants among nuts!
The walnut, which is naturally found in the Balkans and in a belt down towards Turkey and Lebanon, is not a nut in the true sense of the word, but a so-called stone fruit. The fat content is about 60% and it contains a lot of antioxidants, more than any other «nut». We use walnuts in many different types of pâtés and also in muesli. A tip to make the nut taste extra creamy is to soak it overnight, and then dry it in a drying oven!
